The Stories Behind the Heirlooms
Every heirloom tells a story, and Grandma Kathy's collection is no exception. For this photoshoot, she brought a miniature bride dress, quilts, dolls, a pocket watch, toy guns, and a stuffed animal, each with its own history. There were also dried flowers from a daughter's wedding, among other things. These items have been preserved and passed down through generations. Grandma Kathy wanted to capture these stories professionally, extending the life of the treasures she's been collecting over the years.
Combining Vintage Style and Six-Year-Old Sass
Grandma Kathy had a vision for the vintage photoshoot, but her grandchildren added their own 2025 flair. Their playful personalities made the photoshoot sweet, fun, and definitely original!
The Key: A Controlled Environment
Controlling the environment was essential, especially with young subjects who bring their own unpredictability! We arranged the heirlooms and I adjusted the lighting to highlight their textures and colors. I also created a wide circle of light so the kids could move around with freedom but keep their eyes full of light.
