The Love You’ve Grown Into

Most couples wait far too long to be photographed together.

Work gets busy. Kids grow up, then grandkids arrive. And suddenly, decades pass where the only pictures you share are quick phone snapshots, taken between errands or events.

So when this couple walked into my studio, they told me the same thing almost every couple tells me:

“We’re not models. We don’t even know how to pose.”

(I love it when they say this!) Because here’s the truth I want all my clients to know:

A portrait session (with me) is not about being photogenic.

It's about being present.

The most meaningful images don’t come from perfect-looking people. They come from connection — the inside jokes, the shared history, the way two people soften when they look at each other.

This couple brought that energy with them.

They laughed. They relaxed. They let themselves be seen. And what we created together wasn’t just “good photos.”

It was a visual record of who they are at this stage of life: confident, deeply connected, and very much in love.

Why sessions like this matter

This is what I've seen happen when couples allow themselves to be photographed:

1. You see your relationship from the outside

Most people rarely see themselves pictured with their spouse. A real portrait session reveals a spark you may have forgotten was visible. ;)

2. You create something for your legacy

Your children and grandchildren will treasure these images more than you know. Portraits become heirlooms only after the moment has passed.

3. You get to enjoy the experience

Being photographed shouldn’t feel uncomfortable. My job is to guide you, help you relax, and make it easy. Most couples walk out saying:

“That was... surprisingly fun.”

You deserve to exist in photos

Not someday. Not when you “lose weight” or “look younger.”
Right now — exactly as you are.

This couple gave themselves permission to celebrate the life they’ve built. And if you’ve been waiting for the right moment, consider this your invitation.
