Not Sure What To Wear For Headshots?

Bring a few outfits and I'll help you decide!

Sure, being fashionable is nice.  But when it comes to headshots, what really makes a difference is the fit, the color and the neckline. Some people instinctively know what suits them, but many people do not.  I'd love to be your extra pair of eyes to help!

When in doubt, dark colors look good. It keeps the focus on the brightest part of the picture, which should be your face and eyes, not your body.

White can look good if it's tailored to your figure.

A well-fitting dress is always classy. Notice the dark color of the outfit still keeps the focus on the face.

It's ok to still wear light colors- just remember that lighter colors tend to advance, and darker colors tend to recede.

Shading and contrast play into this, so don't overthink it too much- if you're unsure and want to make sure you look your best, bring some different options to your photoshoot and I'll give you direction! Many people bring 2-3 extra tops/ outfits and I can quickly photograph them all- no extra charge- and you can view the results before you decide!

And thank you, Cecelia Hay, for choosing Calotype for your headshots- you always look fabulous!
