Crazy Busy?  You Can Have Something To Show For It

I know it's hard for families to find time for one another, but let me propose a one-time event that will continue to have impact:  get together for a studio family portrait.

Ha! You laugh, knowing your schedule is already overwhelmed.  But hear me out: What makes something rare?

(The answer: scarcity and demand).

Family portraits are precious because our time together is scarce.  Like many families in this town, you probably have some kids in sports and some kids in dance, along with your own demanding schedule.  As kids get older, it's even harder to find time to be together because they begin to pursue their own interests.

When you do get together, you can make every moment count by having a family portrait made!  Instead of just a one-time moment, photography preserves your family just how they are at that time, and you can enjoy the results over and over.

In a world where everything changes rapidly, having time frozen in a photograph can bring immense joy in the years to come, no matter how busy life gets. I love looking over all the wall portraits I have of the kids through the years. I REALLY like looking at the pictures of Jon and I before we had kids- with my tight skin, fit body and lustrous hair 🙈. Kids, we had a life before you came along- but I digress.

Let's Plan A Session That Fits Your Family's Schedule: Easy Steps

1. Pick a date

Finding time for a family portrait session can feel daunting, especially when juggling work, school, and extracurricular activities. I understand these challenges and offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate even the busiest families. Currently, Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays are open from 9 in the morning to 7 in the evening.  Email me and I'll send you a private link to my booking calendar and you can see my schedule for months out. ;)

By planning ahead and being strategic about timing, such as choosing a weekday morning or coordinating with a school break, we can nail down a time far in advance that allows you to plan accordingly.

2. We'll talk to clarify what's most important to you

The majority of moms say "I just want one good picture!"  I agree- and that's always my main focus.  After a quick phone call with you to learn your needs and a little about your family, I get to work planning my composition and designs beforehand, so you can just walk right in and sit down.  My goal is to keep your Session at 30 minutes or under, so you can go right back to your busy life.  To do that, I always make a plan beforehand.  During the Portrait Session, I will arrange a little as we go, adjusting for height or more flattering positions.  If families have time and begin to loosen up, I love to create fun little sub-groups since you're all dressed up and ready, such as poses with dad and the kids, mom and the kids, mom and dad together, etc.  It doesn't take long and being in the studio keeps it efficient.

3. Choose outfits (or I can do it for you!)

Selecting the right outfits is important for helping you feel confident.  There are two groups of people- one group who gets excited about this part and just opened a new window to start shopping. The other group wishes they could pay extra just to make it all go away.  Good news- you don't have to pay extra- I will help you at no additional charge!

For this session, I visited the family's home to help them pick out clothes from what they already had.  Mom was busy doing meaningful work and simply did not have the bandwidth to make the clothing decisions.  Great, I say! I'm on my way!  I can either come to your home, or you can bring clothes to the studio for me to sort through.  Let me know your stress level when it comes to clothing and I'll guide you with easy options.  I have made many laughable blunders with colors and clothing over the years, and I'd love to share what I've learned so you can benefit (without going through my same mistakes).

Bringing Out the Best in Every Family Member

Every family member has a unique personality, and it’s my job as a photographer to capture a glimpse of that. Whether it's the energy of the children or a sweet connection between parents, I look for the clues that make your family special. This is probably my favorite part.  Humans fascinate me.  They are incredibly complex, capable of such great things and made in the image of God.  You may think you're ordinary, but I bow beneath the weight of your glory.  I don't see your flaws.  I see gifts and features I can't wait to draw out! I'd rather under-promise and over-deliver in this area- so I'm saving this magic for you to see once you see the results of your own Session. ❤️

The Portrait- or Album- You'll Always Remember

Not every one wants just one image. With so many wonderful moments captured, narrowing down the photos can be challenging. That’s why I also offer beautiful, handmade albums that compile all the best images, telling your family's story in a beautifully crafted keepsake you can pass down from generation to generation.  I kept albums of my children as they grew, and I remember clearly when Jack took one as show and tell to our homeschool group's community day. He was about ten, and so proud of all the pictures of his childhood. Honestly, when I created that album I was thinking about me- not about him.  I hadn't realized how important those pictures would be to my kids.

In conclusion- let me ask.  Are you making the most of time spent with your family?  We always imagine we'll do it later, "when things slow down."  But you know deep inside that when the urgency is gone- so is the youth, the beauty, and the childhood.  No one is getting any younger.  Now is the time.

Prices start at $270 and go up, depending on whether you choose to purchase one image or multiple.  Something helpful: each image you purchase includes both the digital and print version so you have the best of both worlds.  Your first decision will be paying 175.00 for the Session Fee, then no other payment is due until you see the images I create, approve them and decide which one(s) to purchase.

If you're ready to book, email me for the booking link or schedule a free consultation to answer any questions you might have.   I'm 43 and watched a lot of time go by.  I want to help you by sharing some of the things I've learned.  Let's make memories your children will never forget. ❤️
